What type of hair treatment system is best for growing hair? I am on medication that closes my hair follicles.?

so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks. if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the e to kick in. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins two months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. good luckWhat type of hair treatment system is best for growing hair? vitamins. And if you grease/oil and comb it every night it will grow within a month. I did that and my hair came from 7 inches to 15 inches long.

  • I have neck lengh hair and want to kno if the indian hair treatment wrks.?

i heard you use coconut oils and other things, can someone who knows wat their talking(someone who has done this bfore) about help me out wit some tips that are useful.I have neck lengh hair and want to kno if the indian hair treatment wrks.?
coconut oil suits everyone.. it keeps your hair from getting frizzy and proctects your hair in hot sun.. it is sticky though... just take a spoon full of oil and rub it against your palms and then using your palms rub it on you hair (like you shampoo)...

another gr8 use is to use warm coconut oil to massage your scalp.. this helps to wakeup all the dead cells... it acts as a moisturizer too...

you may try the same.. gud luck :)I have neck lengh hair and want to kno if the indian hair treatment wrks.?
WEll, u just have to apply coconut oil to ur scalp. Massage abt 10 mins. If u have time, give a warm towel steam. After 45 mins wash it off with mild shampoo. u need a couple of sessions in order to see results.
hey, if u aren't sure abt it i guess its best not to try coz it might damage ur hair rather than makes ur hair healthy, u can always use other hair care products, like the Ayuverda hair oil, it is an excellent nourishing and moisturizing oil for both scalp and hair, i was searching for haircare products that i found this site which have lists of haircare products....

Can anyone recommend a hair treatment for me?

I would like it to be straight, soft %26amp; shiny. Just like the hair of rainie yang, the full bangs %26amp; long straight hair of her, not rebond. because my face is big. (ha?) Yes. it is. %26amp; i hate it!

Please help me find a hairstyle that will make

me look stunning (at last!) :p

Thanks 脺Can anyone recommend a hair treatment for me?
When you say your face is big, do you mean round or long? Either way I don't think that hairstyle would suit your face. However, I don't know what you look like. My advise would be go to a hairdresser and ask them if it you suit your face. However, if your hair is already cut like Rainie Yang's, then ignore the above. If you want it straight and shiny you should buy a hair straighner from VS Sasson because their straighners make your hair shiny. Some products that can help with softness and shiny include:

Anti-frizz or smoothing serum - It makes your hair shiny, smooth and soft.

Heat defence spray - Protects your hair when you straighner it.

Mirror shine spray - Makes it nice and shiny.

Straight smoothing balm - From when you blow dry it straight, it makes it soft and dries it quicker. Can anyone recommend a hair treatment for me?
Aveda has the best hair products because it uses natural ingredients and is totally organic. My hair has always been damaged because I flat iron it a lot and my hair dresser recommended Aveda Damage Remedy and it performed miracles. Its a little pricey but worth it (35$). Most salons don't have it so you would probably have to find a local Aveda store or just order it online.
To have straight, soft %26amp; shiny hair (like mine) you have to be born from it. They're virgin hair. No dyes. No perm. No straightening. Nothing from a bottle. No magic pills.

That would be like saying, I want curly hair like say . . . . someone who is African American - Oprah.

Anyone who uses tools and products to have hair they're not born with, is asking for a disaster.

No product can perform magic for you. The hair industry is a billion dollar business to ruin, manipulate and makes you believe they do tricks for you. It is not so.
use herbal essence shampooo and conditioner

its reallly good makes ur hair very soft and shiny

and for wanting your hair straight just straighten it with a straightner

thats whats the best way :)

Almost 2 months after curly my hair treatment, can i go to re bonding process. hair stylist said, it takes 2yr?

    its true

Has anyone had a straightening hair treatment (not relaxers) at a salon?

i have poofy, wavy, dry, very thick hair. my mom's friend is a hair stylist and was talking about these brazillian hair treatments. my old hair stylist got her's chemically straightened and it dried her hair out sooooo much. it was like straw. but my moms friend said this adds health and shine and stuff and makes it perfectly straight!Has anyone had a straightening hair treatment (not relaxers) at a salon?
do NOT get the brazilian hair treatment it doesn't last and sometimes depending on the hair does not even work. i would reccomend the japanese hair straightening, which i actually just got today. if your old hair stylist's hair was dried out, it was because she went to someone who was not licensed or did not do the hair straightening properly my hair is gorgeous and it looks very healthy because it is! and in most korean salons, which are usually the best, the price is around $200-$300, so worth it, its a lot cheaper than most placesHas anyone had a straightening hair treatment (not relaxers) at a salon?
my mom had this done a little while ago...

I wish she didn't do it !!!!!!!!!!!!! her hair is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DRY now !!!!!!!!!!!! it was great before!!!!

she still has to straighten her hair everyday !!!!!

    dont do it !!!
I do not think that there is any permanent solution to curly hair. Anything would be temporary, but I got a relaxer once. It did not dry my hair out, but I learned to live with the hair that I have.
    get a japanese perm
    oh ~ hahaha

yea : ] u can trust a brazillian it's not chemical iz something that helps your hair very~~nicely and smoooths it out ,, people that have done it usually has a lot of color or perm done on their hair... iz usually juz for people with really badd damaged hair

it doesn't last too long either.. and it goes back to ur natural hair later on but still a bit smooth

if you do the japanese straight that u might be talking about or people call it magic straight

it really depends on u.. if you have really weak and already damaged hair then yea ur gonna kill it a lil more :/ but magic straight usually lasts a very long time and only need to do only the roots again :3

yea i usually tell people here go to a korean salon and do it bcuz they have experience in this :3

Is ther any hair treatment you can make at home that gives you shiny hair?

idk with like mayo or milk or something....please include recipe and directionsIs ther any hair treatment you can make at home that gives you shiny hair?
A spanish friend of mine has BEAUTIFUL black shiny hair. When I asked her her secret... she uses:

One Avocado, peeled, sliced and then mashed VERY well

1/4 c. mayo mixed with the avocado. She'll put it in her hands and run it through her slightly damp hair. Then she wraps it in a VERY HOT wet towel for about 45 mins. You have to wash your hair with a mild shampoo twice afterward. I have not tried it yet but she swears by it. Her hair is beautiful though. Give it a try and post your thoughts. Is ther any hair treatment you can make at home that gives you shiny hair?
wen shampooing ur hair, use cool water.

wen coditioning after, use COLD water.

i shower like this everymorning nd it leaves my hair shiny...

....it also wakes me up too. =P
you can try some virgin olive oil but make sure you dont use to much also when you are ready to wash it out make sure your use mot hot water then normal so you get it all out. you can also go to a beauty supply store and try cholesterol cream i have used it and i like it but my total favorite whip your hair back into shape product is . miracle grow or 7 natural oils that cost about 3 bucks and you can find at rite aid.
sorry idk but the mayo makes your hair softer not shiner.

Has anyone taken hair treatment from Dr. Shahid Shamsher at Bangalore? Is he any good?

Today i went for treatment and he charges an exorbitant amount of money for treatment. That is worrying me a lot more than my hair loss problem. I hope his treatment does some good. Are there any side effects of his treatment?Has anyone taken hair treatment from Dr. Shahid Shamsher at Bangalore? Is he any good?
Hi guys ! My brother is on Dr. Shahid Shamsher's hair treatment. At a young age only he has lost quite a lot of hair, may be it runs in our family. I had accompanied him on his first consultation. I think Dr. Shamsher was very straightforward in telling him how much to expect. that made a lot of difference. He has been on his treatment sin 4 months and I can see a difference not only in his hairloss but also in his attitude. I guess, before criticizing a doctor, we need to also have our expectations in the right place. as patients we may want the stars and the moon, but as a doctor he can only do his best.Has anyone taken hair treatment from Dr. Shahid Shamsher at Bangalore? Is he any good?
Hi Swati. My name is Madhuri Jain. I think you are at the right place. Sometime back in 2007, I have taken treatment from Dr. Shahid Shamsher for about 9-10 months. He had diagnosed me with infection on the head and I got pretty good results with it. His hair care is a bit difficult to follow though. He had advised me to wash my hair every alternate day. Before that I used to wash my hair only once in a week, so it took me a little while to adjust to his advice. As compared to the other treatments that I underwent where the doctors were just giving me general treatments, I think his treatment worked best for me. The charges are high, but at the end of the day results matter. Rather than meeting general doctors, I would any day suggest anybody to meet a trichologist. It helps as they are experts in hair and treat you with specific medicines rather than just beating about the bush. He had given me one herbal medicines to intake everyday and also some medicines to apply directly onto the scalp and I did not get any side effects. Today I am back to my hometown in Hyderabad and the hair fall still remains good.

    All the best to you.
He diagnosed me of fungal infection in the scalp. The staff outside told me the medicine costs Rs.5,500/- for 3 months. Shahid said comeback after 3 months. I really doubt his method of treatment and the price for medicines. No doubt its a Rip-Off. You know something, a Trichologist is not medically qualified. Google to know yourself.

Later wanted to take 2nd opinion, met a Dermatologist (FYI i visited Apollo clinic, Koramangala) and convinced with the medication and cost. I suggest meet a Dermatologist for best results.
I have never been personally to him for any medicines fortunately I have never had hair loss problems. But I had one roomie who used to take his treatment in 2008 for some 2-3 months. He used to say it was ok, it was helping him to control the hair fall, but I think he never finished the treatment, because he left Bangalore and went back to his native place in north.

But I seen a few blogs on him previously. I am giving you the links below, maybe it will help you, maybe it wont. Ultimately you have to read and decide for yourself.

RAJDHANI EXPRESS AND CHERIO- CREDENTIALS DOUBTFUL.

I have grave doubts about the authenticity of RAJDHANI EXPRESS and CHERIO. The reason being that both of them have certain commonalities in their replies above.

One commonality is using of the word exorbitant. The question asker Swati has used it in her question and both of them have just picked it up from there and repeated it in their answer. Both say the charges are exorbitant, but neighter mention the exact charges figure.

The second and biggest commonality is that both of them have recommended the product SEGAL SOLUTIONS. Cherio has recommended it in the answer above and Rajdhani has cleverly not recommended it here, but instead recommended the same product in another question. Click on this link to see his answer

    http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqwwKZk3wKovN7NDvxt9NWTlHwx.;_ylv=3?qid=20090209121021AAqZxHD

See how both recommend the same product. Is鈥檔t that too much of a coincidence.

The third reason lies in their profiles. If you check the profile of both, they both have answered some hundreds of questions, but they have blocked the public from viewing their answers. Why is that? Is it not, because if you see all their answers, one would realize that they are recommending SEGAL SOLUTION everywhere? So are these not just some marketing agents of segal solution products? I think yahoo should ban such activities where there is a clear intention to sell a product in this forum.
This is for Moon with Goggles.

Are you an agent of Dermatologists? Because other than that, no one can praise this nightmare profession.

I started going to one dermatologist called Dr Satish Murthy on Cunningham road about 4 years ago for my hair loss problems. First they gave me some medicines for one month which cost only Rs 500. They told me it will stop the hair loss. I was happy, because the medicines was reasonably cheap. However that was my biggest mistake in my life. I kept going there month after month, after month for nearly about 15 months and every month they would just change the medicine brand so as to fool the patient. Basically they would give me minoxidil lotion, which comes under various brand names like mintop, tugain, coverit, morr etc and together with that finax tablets. They never once told me that finax tablets cause loss of sexual power, otherwise I would have stopped it there and then. Is this ethical????. Should the doctor not tell what is the potential side effect of the medicine, or just allow the patient to continue the medicine, so that he can pocket the money every month. Finally even after all this medicines, my hair fall never came under control, so they told me to undergo transplant, saying that will solve all my problems. So 2 years ago I underwent transplantation with his fake hospital. They charged me Rs 1.75 lacs for it. I still paid it thinking that at least my problem will get solved, but after that even a bigger nightmare started. My hair line kept on going back and back, and now infact it kept going back even faster than before. When I asked this Dr Murthy why, he said some people, under go this problem after transplant, and it is called transplant shock. Now why the hell he did not tell me this before??. Is it not his duty of this Dr Murthy to tell all the pros and cons of any operation? Instead they painted a very rosy picture, which will tempt the patient into thinking everything will be alright.

Today my state is such that I have lost almost most of my hair from the front and the transplanted hair sticks out like thorns, making me look like a fool. 10 people ask me everyday, what is wrong with my hair. Every morning when I wake up I curse this doctor and his hospital and pray that some terrorist will bomb it.

If you don鈥檛 believe me, take a look at my photos on this link.

SO MR MOON-WITH-GOGGLES-THE-GREAT, PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND SOMETHING WHICH YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT AND MISLEAD THE OTHER PEOPLE INTO THIS PIT HOLE.
Been using mintop, regain, topgain etc since 2 years now. Must have spent around 15000 on these so-called doctors at Apollo Hospital. If I stop it, the hair fall starts again. In these 2 years, I have only lost more hair and more money. Can you give me the address of this Dr. I don鈥檛 mind if he charges more, only he should promise that he will cure me in a definite time period. One of the person here has told she was cured in 10 months. How much duration of treatment he has told you?
Hi i have been taking dr shahid's treatment since past 9 months and yes there is definately decrease in my hair fall and it is just like normal hairfall which everybody has on a daily basis...now as far as regrowth is concerned he told me it will almost take 3 years to see the difference.I cant say anything about regrowth but yes for hairloss it is good.
I finished his treatment 6-8 months ago. It controlled my fall and gave me some around 30% growth, but for more growth he was telling me to under transplant, which I cannot afford as the costs are high. Presently I am taking his maintainance therapy so it is staying ok, atleast not falling more.
    never been

  • Whats the best curly hair treatment?

I have naturally curly hair. My curls are very small and tightly wound. I have been get relaxers done on my hair for years and recently (about a year ago), stopped getting any treatments done to totally grow the curls back. I want to do a treatment that won't kill my hair, will leave it curly and shiny, but also allow me to straighten it if I want to. I want to loosen the curls slightly. Any suggestions?Whats the best curly hair treatment?
I don't know what will loosen the curls. I heard that henna can loosen the curl pattern. I tried to dye my hair with it (henna) and I did notice a few curls were looser than normal (not happy about that). I've heard that baking soda and apple cider viniger (ACV) can loosen the curl pattern - I've never tried it. People use baking soda and ACV to clean the hair instead of using shampoo, which can be too drying. Here's a thread with this very question about how to loosen the curl pattern http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/鈥?/a>

Texturizing can also loosen your curl. A texturizer is like a low-grade perm. It does not fully straighten your hair so you'll have looser curls. Instead of a texturizer some people will use a relaxer and leave it on for a small amount of time so it does not fully process, or straighten, the hair.

I'm not sure what kind of ';treatment'; you want to do. I've done deep conditioning and protein treatments for different ';problems.'; I suggest you visit some natural hair care websites and message boards and you'll get the information you're looking for. All I have to do to get my hair curly is to add water + glycerin, water + olive oil (oil to seal), or a cream moisturizer (not the heavy stuff that causes build-up). When I first did the BC I had to restore my moisture balance before my hair started curling natural, without much, or any, product.

Congratulations on going natural, I went completely natural this summer. Here are some sites and message boards you can check out.

http://www.nappturality.comWhats the best curly hair treatment?
If I'm reading this right, you want to loosen your curls without totally straightening, right? I highly recommend a caramel treatment with bananas and molasses as the key ingredients. It will loosen your curl pattern some, but also condition your hair wonderfully, leaving it soft and shiny. But be warned, if you use the caramel treatment and abuse flat irons or other heated appliances, you could kill your curls. Apparently talk of the caramel treatment has been banned on nappturality, because it's too similar to a relaxer, even though it's all natural.

Does Olive oil or mayo really work for as a hair treatment?

i know olive oil does but not sure about mayo. i use olive oil every onnce in a while.Does Olive oil or mayo really work for as a hair treatment?
when you use olive oil, get some and massage it all over your hair and really well into your scalp, then wash it out. it gets all that gunk off of your scalp. but make sure you get all of it out, or your hair will look greasy. you might even want to wash it with dishwashing (NOT dishWASHER ) soap, because that cuts through grease, you know?

sorry, but i dont know about mayonnaise.Does Olive oil or mayo really work for as a hair treatment?
Olive oil mixed with avacodo is good ... makes your hair shiny... but don't use mayo (I use to do that) it just coats your hair so when you do put conditioner or anything on it your hair can't absorb it. You don't want that.

What deep conditioner/hair treatment worked best for you? and leave-in?

  • What should i expect from first laser hair treatment?

I recently had my first treatment on my face and neck. I know it takes a while for the hair to come out and the first results aren't permanent, but it looks like most of the treated hair wasn't burned at all. It's actually still growing. Is this normal after the first treatment? Should they use a stronger/different laser?

p.s. i am fair skinned with darker hairWhat should i expect from first laser hair treatment?
Doesn't sound as if it worked. Did your face seem sunburned after the treatment? I am fair skinned and dark haired and I had to cover my face (due to the redness and sensitivity) when I left the doctor's office. By the way it wasn't worth the cost and grief, in my opinion.

I just went to their launch party and had my hair done, free as a demo. Its amazing, my hair was breaking off and flying away. I will always always buy this stuff. Its awesome, I saw a difference as soon as she rinsed my hair. I have no damage anymore, its unbelievable! No more split-ends, its like my hair is NEW! I love it!

It makes your hair stronger and good-smelling :)

you can get it at albertsons, and i think walkgreen's might have it too.
I currently use Biotin 5,000 iu, vitamin E, vitamin B-12 and a multivitamin. Alot of hair growth is from the inside out. mane n' tail is amazing.Avacado oil also has alot of vitamins and is great for the scalp and you can also try lavander oil. i suggest you make sure your hair is deeply conditioned once a week. i personally love the avacado oil (rub into your scalp and hair really well) (buy at healthfood stores) and then on top of that rub in the hemp and placenta mix (packets at walmart in hair section) you can also use olive oil as a great moisturizer as well. make sure to wrap your head in a warm heated towel for about 30 mins or so and then rinse really well. Don't shampoo though or else you undo what you have done. My hair came out super soft and not at all greasy, and very tangle free.
    How about a wig?
There is a product you can get at Sally Beauty suppy called Ion Reconstructor Treatment. It is very good I like to use it a couple of times a month. You do need to know though that since your hair is fine you should use it and then wash your hair because if you just rinse it out it will be too heavy and will weigh the hair down. It works great though. Your hair will feel much softer and strong for a couple of weeks after using it.
You want to try a good leave in conditioner and keep up on the trims. Sexy Hair has awesome products for volume and control without the drying agents that are put into hair products. Do not use any oil treatments they fry hair. Think about it do you fry food in oil?????? Hope this helps

What hair treatment should I avail of?

I'm going to the salon tomorrow, and I recently dyed my hair.

It's been a little dead since then, so I was wondering what treatment I should I have done. I was thinking of a hot oil, but I'm not too sure..

If you've dyed your hair before, please do answer. I need help! :)What hair treatment should I avail of?
well my mom is cosmetologost and she puts mayo in her hair

    olive oil/cooking oil

and then put a cap over it and then wait for 15-30 minutes

then wash out 4 times with shampoo and then leave in conditioner! What hair treatment should I avail of?
hot oil is really good. I do that whenever my hair is looking a little dead. Go for that :)

Hair treatment to make my hair stronger and less likely to break?

so i went from having almost black hair to blonde.... and i really like it, it looks nice, but my hair gets so tangly and damaged, and my hair just breaks sometimes!!!

any at-home or store-bought treatments i can use on my hair to make it softer and stronger?Hair treatment to make my hair stronger and less likely to break?
The April 2007 In Style magazine has a little tip. They suggest using unflavoured gelatin packets. Mix half the packet with water to create a gel. Apply to hair while wet, let hair dry, then shampoo out. I haven't tried this yet, but maybe it will help. It says to do it once a month.Hair treatment to make my hair stronger and less likely to break?
You should buy the john frieda shampoo(Sheer Blonde) and conditioner. These products are really good I have my hair highlighted and started using these and seen good results less slpit ends,my hair got softer and less hair fell out. They also have other products to use for shine. They are sold in any store like Target,Walgreens, etc.
    apply vitamine E oil

    massage gently
hot oil treatments or buy a deep conditioner I would deep conditioner or hot oil treatment once a week or every couple of week which every one u feel u need to do.Also carrot oil is good too you use it for a couple of things like a hot oil treatment massage oil. I would suggest for a hot oil treatment try:http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a鈥?/a>
I recommend to my clients to get a good hydrating shampoo and condition like ISO hydraclense and conditioner. It is really good. There is also this product by REDKEN called Anti-snap and it is great! You just put a little bit of it in your hands and rub in while it is still wet and style as usual. Also putting a good conditioner on there and rinsing with cold water will help seal that cuticle close with the conditioner in there.

Basically you can use one of the following four methods or a combination of them.

    1. Topically applied agents to block or decrease the production of DHT.

    2. Topically applied ingredients that irritate the hair follicle into further production.

    3. Internally consumed agents and ingredients that block the production of DHT and thereby increase hair growth.

    4. Internally consumed and externally applied agents that block the immune responses of the body. This in turn curtails thinning hair and promotes regrowth in the hair follicle.Where can I get scalp and hair treatment for hair loss in New Zealand?

Hello. Heavy protein shampoo and conditioner will help to rebuild the keratin in your hair. Keratin is what makes your hair strong. Is it breaking off on the ends? If so, be sure to put moisturizers on the ends every day. Clip your ends once every month or so. Never let your ends go dry. If it is breaking at the roots. Then you will need protein shampoos and conditioners. Pantene has the best! Never brush or comb wet hair... Use your fingers. Or a large tooth comb.

Reduce Heat appliances. Try a hair lotion that does not flake or have heavy build up for daily moisture. Keep the hair products that you use simple. No cheapy products. Don't color or bleach or perm for a while. Stick with natural based products.

    Hope this helps..

Does the brazilian keratin hair treatment actually work?

As in the Brazilian straightening treatment?

I've heard it does, although I've never had it done.

Hair treatment: Do i need it or Do they Just want my Money?

I have semi-nice hair, its not all that dry, but i do know it is pourous and i have a lot of flyaways. I do use John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Moisturizing Shampoo and conditioner. I have been to a couple of stylists asking if i should get a deep conditioning. Their response is that it wouldnt hurt to get one, or you could benefit from one. I dont know if this is because they want the money or do i really need to. What do others think? Any cosmetologist have a unbiast (since they most likely wont be doing my hair) opinion on this?Hair treatment: Do i need it or Do they Just want my Money?
Hairstylist here! Sounds like the stylists don't really think you need one. We'd tell you straight up without you asking if you needed one. Most people with longer hair could use a deep conditioning treatment once in awhile just because the longer you hair is the ';older'; and more fragile your ends are. Double that if you color, perm, blowdry, or use curling irons or flat irons.

I agree with the others that you could definately do this on your own by either having a stylist recommend an at home treatment salon product or by using cholesterol or the conditioning treatments you can get at wally world. Don't do it more than once a week-it'll make your hair flat and maybe even greasy.Hair treatment: Do i need it or Do they Just want my Money?
If your hair is dry at all, you could definitely benefit from a deep conditioning treatment. You do not have to go to a stylist to get this done. It's very simple to do on your own, and you can buy the products most anywhere. Look for ';hair cholesterol.'; Let it sit in your damp hair for 10-15 minutes, then rinse out. I do this every week, and my hair is always soft and healthy!
Do you see results continue them if your hair does not show a difference then discontinue.
i think you should just use a tre seme shampoo and conditioner, i think the shampoo strengthens hair (and NO! i m NOT ADVERTISING!)
What they say is true... it wouldn't hurt to get one. If you don't get one, that doesn't mean you will die for having ugly hair. So what they're telling you is that it's not a necessity as of the moment. I'm sure they will tell you if you really need one. They're leaving it up to you to decide whether or not you're comfortable with the way your hair is now. And they're saying that although it's okay now, it could be better.

If you have extra money to spend and want to maintain healthy hair, then I suggest that you get one. There's really no harm in having prettier hair than you have right now.
    they just want ur money! b cuz u can do a hair treatment urself for a whole lot less! just go look in the hair product section for ';deep conditioning hair repairs/treatments';
they just want your money.you can do the same thing that they can do at a cheaper price.

What is your in the shower hair treatment? (for girls with long, curly hair)?

Hey, I have really, really long, thick, curly hair. It's not super curly, but its not wavy either. I tend to get a lot of tangles and its really hard to manage. So I'm asking girls with similar hair what they do to maintain gorgeous hair. The more details, the better! What is your in the shower hair treatment? (for girls with long, curly hair)?
After washing my hair with shampoo (bed head control freak), I put in the conditioner and brush my hair through (while the conditioner is still in!) with a wide-toothed comb. I then rince. This is good because it takes out some of the tangles you might get after you're done shampooing. After I shower, I NEVER towel dry my hair. It creates a crazy amount of tangles! I wrap it in a towel for a short amount of time (to absorb some water) let it out and comb it again. If you comb through, it separates your hair and allows the curls to form more evenly and will prevent frizzy curls. I then put in leave-in conditioner (while hair is damp) and let it air dry. Normally, it drys just fine...but, if not, I like to put it in a bun for a few hours and then let it out. This creates nice waves that are a lot more manageable. I don't suggest hairspray. Hope that helped! What is your in the shower hair treatment? (for girls with long, curly hair)?
i use Sunsilk- Waves of Envy Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner

    works really well! =)
shampoo twice, then huge glob of conditioner (and sometimes some sort of anti-dryness mask instead).

and i don't brush my hair, it gives me a big afro if i do, which sounds strange, but i never get knots in it anyway. so you could try that i guess.

also if you shower at night, braid your hair / put it in a bun and sleep with it so it dries overnight. looks pretty in the morning. :]]

    x apple.
i put a TON of conditioner in it while in the shower then use a wide tooth comb to brush it out. once then i use a t-shirt to dry(because the stuff that towels are made out of creates frizz) until its slightly damp. after that i use gel and musse (any kind designed for curly hair) then i let it air dry. hope this helps!

in the shower i use a ton of conditioner, and leave it in for a while. the rinse really well!! i only use shampoo ever other shower, cause it wieghs down curls. once u get out of the shower DONT DO ANYTHING!!!! don't comb it and dont flip your head upside down. if you must you can lightly rub on some leave in conditioner. but by brushing or running your hands thorough ur hair you totally screw up the curl pattern. trust me. good luck with your hair.

  • Whats the best hair treatment conditioner?

Ive straightened my hair every day since sixth grade, I am now in 11th. Ive died it a bunch of times and i've bleached it a lot too. I'm currently trying to go platinum blonde so i need a really good conditioner to help my really dead fried hair.Whats the best hair treatment conditioner?
I wouldn't bleach it if I were you, it may not look too good if you've already damaged it so much. If you're anything like me you probably don't care lol....I have done so much stuff to my hair, regretted it and went ahead and did it again.

If you have a sally beauty supply. Get this stuff that comes in a packet called aphogee 2 step protein treatment. You can use it a week before or after bleaching, it helps repair the hair. It smells but it works.

That you are only supposed to use once every 6 months.

THey also have a aphogee 2 min. reconstructor that you can use weekly that is really good.

    Some other options are:

Joico shampoo and conditioner...it's in a brown bottle called K-pak reconstruct. It's expensive but works really well. You can get this at trade secret or salons.

Will the Brazilian hair treatment help or damage my hair?

My hair is: Curly, Highlighted, Damaged, Dry, Frizzy

My mom knows people with my type hair who got it done and it fixed it. It is said to have no chemicals. Will it damage my hair anymore or actually fix it? Does it have chemicals? Does it work? What will it do? Remember it is the BRAZILIAN one. Will the Brazilian hair treatment help or damage my hair?
ok so first, am i am brazilian, and everywhere i go there is that brazilian treatment, i have never done it because my hair is not damaged, straight, and not frizzy so i have no point to do it, but, i have a cousin and one of my friends, that have had hair like yours, and they did the brazilian treatment, and their hair looks amazing! i swear! also, i heard in the salon i went (in brazil) i think it was 1 week ago well i heard the guy who cuts my hair talking to this woman about it, and he said that there are NO chemicals, and that he has done it many times and it always seems to work, and that he recomands it to people with curly and damaged hair. so good luck!

What does a hot oil hair treatment do?

I am not sure what it does. My mom got me some Vo5 stuff and I didn't know if it could hurt my hair. I am white and have wavy/curly hair that is dry from clorine(sp). ThanksWhat does a hot oil hair treatment do?
A hot oil treatment is suppose to mositurize your hair.. i am mixed and I have curly hair.. REALLY curly hair.. and whenever my hair is dry it tends to frizz alot; i basically use a hot oil treatment to add mosture to my hair.. I dont know about you but if your hair tends to frizz then its most likley dry.. a hot oil treatment after a couple of months into the treatment should fix all that.. providing you use it on an ongoing basis. What does a hot oil hair treatment do?
Oh my god, that stuff is a godsend for damaged hair. It makes my hair so much stronger, smoother, shinier and overall healthier. It enhances the color in my hair a little bit as well. And it only takes 2 minutes. Don't worry, it should do nothing but good for your hair!

What is a good overnight hair treatment?

I would like to wake up to soft, silky hair and I'm not quite sure what is a good hair mask to use overnight...What is a good overnight hair treatment?
Nexxus' humectress is really good. What is a good overnight hair treatment?
If you have Mayonaise at home or olive, vegetable oil, use it. My beautician told me that secret years ago when I accidently fried my hair at home. After you apply the mayo or oil wrap your hair in foil and then put on a showercap. When you wake up wash twicw- to make sure you got it all out and tada-clean shiny, conditioned hair. Tip: not recommended more than once a week or two.
I just use tressume thick and full conditioner. Glop lots of it on there and braid it and wash it out in the morning, comes out silky and straight and really really soft and shiny.
This is gonna sound crazy, but I put olive oil in my hair once or twice a week it makes it really silky, but you only need a little. I heard Fergie say that she does the same when she's not on tour!
if your hair is in that bad of shape, consider a hair cut and better products. Pureology is one of the best. don't forget that you can't change your hair type -it might be coarse by genetics.
put conditioner on it, leave it on over night and then wash it off in the morning!

    works like a charm :)

Will using my anti-dandruff shampoo after the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment damage my scalp or hair?

I just bought the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment. I know that u use it before you shampoo. The thing is I use an antidandruff shampoo regularly. thing is with most anti dandruff shampoos such as head and shoulders - the chemicals in them which are used to treat the problem can often cause other problems such as irritation to the scalp and making the problem worse.

try using a shampoo wuth tea tree oil in - tea tree oil is known for being v.good for greasy hair and dandruff and helping sore itchy scalps. Will using my anti-dandruff shampoo after the Alberto VO5 hot oil hair treatment damage my scalp or hair?
No go ahead, the only damage anti dandruff shampoos do is fade coloured hair
it wont damage your hair or scalp just make it smooth and have a nice glossy shine!
    shouldn't hurt a thing..........

What is a cellophane hair treatment?

Someone here suggested I get a cellophane treatment for my hair. What is it for? What does it involve? How long does it take? Would it look odd if a guy had this kind of treatment? What is a cellophane hair treatment?
Cellophane hair treatment can be two different things. The first is like a conditioning treatment, to make your hair softer. It takes about between 20-60 mins depending on how long they leave the treatment on your hair and could be anywhere from $5 and up. And no, I don't think it would look odd only because all it does is make your hair softer and more manageble. The other is a nice alternative to permanent color, and it adds moisture to your hair and usually start around $30 and up. It will take around an hour or so depending on your stylist. But unlike other permanent colors, cellophane color treatment will naturally wash out of your hair within eight weeks. I also don't think this would be odd since most guys do color their hair anymore and this doesn't last as long as permanent colors. Hope I helped!

Someone here suggested I get a cellophane treatment for my hair. What is it for? What does it involve? How long does it take? Would it look odd if a guy had this kind of treatment? What is a cellophane hair treatment?
A cellophane hair treatment is basically a semipermanent hair ';color'; without the color. The ';color'; is a clear liquid or gel mixed with a developer. The developer helps the ';color'; bond to your hair, and the ';color'; helps to plump up the hair shaft and fill in spots on each hair where it might have been damaged. The treatment makes your hair look softer, silkier, shinier and smoother without actually changing your hair color at all.

Does anyone know of a good hair treatment for dandruff and frizzy hair?

Head and shoulders works well for dandruff, but I've found that it smells a bit too medicinal. Try Herbal Essences No Flakin' Way Shampoo. it smells good, and works well to control dandruff.

As for frizz, try John Frieda Frizz-Ease products. They're a teeny bit pricey but they work wonders.Does anyone know of a good hair treatment for dandruff and frizzy hair?
Dandruff is caused by lack of moisture in the scalp. It needs to be mosturized just like your skin. Put a deep conditioner in once a week and leave it in as long as you can take it. Massage it on your scalp. For frizzy hair Paul Mitchll Super Skinny Serum is wonderful you can put it on wet or dry or both.Does anyone know of a good hair treatment for dandruff and frizzy hair?

Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of water to it. Wet the hair and apply the egg mixture over the hair. Now massage your scalp and let the mixture on for ten minutes to fifteen minutes. Then rinse the hair with lukewarm water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

http://www.hennaforhair.com/mixes/index.鈥?/a>Henna is a good stuff for hair. what are the ingredients required to prepare the henna hair treatment?
    Henna

    Water

    Er, that's it.
If you've got pure henna, not those mixed things, then it should be soaked overnight, then mixed with 1-2 eggs, some yogurt and little bit lemon juice. If you don't want color, then make sure that you put some oil on your hair before applying henna. Leave the mixture on for 30-45 min, and shampoo off. Henna has good conditioning properties, yes, but if you overdo it, it can make hair dry and brittle. So limit the treatment to only once a month.
i dont think henna is good for hair.. i think it makes it very dry.. but i would recommend oil
Henna Powder mixed with water! Need to make sure you make it so that its a creamy thick paste, make sure its not to runny or thick n lumpy!!
Henna is the dye is extracted from the dried leaf and petioles of the (henna) plant.

Henna and water. Basically a paste.

People mainly put in on their bodies (hands/arms).
Yes pure body art quality henna is best for your hair. You can add some lemon juice and water warmed up to your henna powder. That is all you need for a basic recipe. if you want to tone down the reddish tones use coffee, or amla powder or indigo to your hair. The amla powder will also promote hair growth and all of the above will help with the dandruff. This is a very good blend to use.

If you like you may add some essential oils to your hair to leave it smelling great or even orange blossom water or rose water too.

In between you can even try henna gloss treatment. Put some henna into your conditioner and give your hair a nice deep treatment and leave it even softer and moisturized.

Henna is good for Ur hair,,u just add water and mix,its abit messy thoe, once you henna there is alot of hair dyes u can't use on your hair until it grows out so be really sure you want to use henna but it is really good so i don't want to put you off..
Add water and mix to a paste but check the pack when you buy it some Henna turns out a lot redder than others! Also get some of those plastic gloves for your hands other wise you'll stain them too. It's supposed to add vitamins and nutrients.

I would also recommend that you pick up some vitamins for hair and nails from your local chemists. They'll take 2-4 weeks to show a marked difference but they should take care of the dry brittle thing and take some vitamin E pills for your scalp.
Henna is usually mixed with water. but select natural henna, and grind it yourself. do not go in for the ready mix, they are not good for hair as they contain chemicals.

Read the back of the bottle/package it should tell you exactly how to and when to use it. I would think that you would shampoo your hair as you normally would and then use the treatment. Not sure bout the conditioner tho. I would just shampoo then use as directed on bottle.

If your hair is dry, massage olive oil or conditioner into damp hair. Wrap in a damp hot towel and chill for 15 minutes. Rinse out with cool water and your hair will be super soft. For curly hair, smooth a couple of drops of scented massage oil on the ends of dry hair. Great shine and great relaxing scent!

What's the point of wrapping hair with a warm towel with any hair treatment?

Using a warm towel helps any product you are using to penetrate the shaft of your hair and work more deeply. You could warm your towel by putting it on a radiator or in a tumble drier, or you could use a heating hood.

I do need your help and Prayers please鈥? If there is a doctor or anyone else out there who is reading my message pls help! Thank you God bless and Merry Christmas!Does anyone know a natural cure or medicine for falling hair due to scalp burns from a hair treatment?
You need to see a dermatologist, be prepared he or she may suggest that you cut all of your hair off and start new depending upon the extent of the damage to your scalp.

As far as vitamins go biotin seems to do a lot for hair and nail growth but ask the dr as it may intefere with whatever they prescribe.

Massage your scalp-grab one of those little ones from bed bath and beyond or linens and things. do this evey night before you go to sleep if your dr says its ok.

no more chemical treatments for a year would be my guess. i get a perm but i dont blow dry or curl my hair which makes my hair stronger. heatless is the way to go but i hear ceramic tools are good and safe but i say heat free whenever possible is the kindest to your hair.

once your dr gives you the ok to resume n ormal hair products visit the longhaircareforum.com for tips on products to grow hair longer and make it healthier. these are tips form real people who have long hair. many of them have hair logs and you can watch their hair grow over weeks, months and years.

God Bless!Does anyone know a natural cure or medicine for falling hair due to scalp burns from a hair treatment?
it happened to me once also when I bleached my hair. As a result, I lost a lot of hair too. I think the best thing to do is to go see a dermatologist because they would probably have to see your scalp and maybe prescribe some vitamins for hair growth and some kind of cream for the scalp. I hope that helps...
My advice would be to see a dermatologist. They may give you something that may take a few weeks before showing results, so until then, see a good hair salon for advice on hair styles. Also, try some hats(you'll find a large variety at this time of year). Hope this helps.
what exactly did you have done? a relaxer? if you could specify that would be great.
Go see a dermatologist ASAP. Good luck and God bless ^j^ ^j^ ^j^
go to your local health food store (or online) there are several you could use. check out the homeopathic areas.

The idea is that the heat helps the product to penetrate your hair/skin depending on whether it is a hair/scalp/skin treatment. You warm a towel by pouring very hot water over it and then wringing it out or if you have access to one: use a professional steamer!

Is it ok if I leave hair treatment on longer than the time instructed?

I bought a hair treatment thing and the package said to leave it in for 3 minutes but I have really dry hair so I was wondering if I could leave it in a little bit longer...Is it ok if I leave hair treatment on longer than the time instructed?
As long as it's a conditioner or something, sure you can leave it in longer but you're not guaranteed that it'll do more. If your hair is really dry, go for a deep conditioner and you can even throw on a plastic cap and sit under a dryer for it to penetrate deeper. Good luck!Is it ok if I leave hair treatment on longer than the time instructed?
yes it is fine to leave it on longer, when i do my treatments i usually leave mine in for 30 to 45 mins because my hair is naturally dry.

Can anyone recommend a Intensive Hair Treatment?

Hi im looking for a quality intensive hair conditioning treatment. What would you recommend and the best way to use it? thanksCan anyone recommend a Intensive Hair Treatment?
yes tht is a make called aussie 3 min miricle dnt know if u have heard of it but it heats up and help all types of hair its great the differences is amazing great for damaged hair or colored hair and u can buy it in small packs...

all u do is put it onto wet hair leave it for 3 mins then comb trough n wash off simple lolCan anyone recommend a Intensive Hair Treatment?
I think it largely depends on the type of hair you have. I am biracial and have in between frizzy, curly hair. I use Dove shampoo and conditioners two - three times a week and a deeper conditioner once a week. The Deep condittioner is not fancy at all, it's called Cholesterol (it has an olive oil mix), but its wonderful. Great for all types of hair.

The thing about hair treatments is that they must be used in collaboration with improved hair care habits. If you have more coarse, curly, or simply drier hair, look into moving away from everyday washing as they can dry the hair and not give adequate time for scalp oils to work their way to the tips and result in dryness.

Also, most conditioners used with a heating cap, a plastic cap, and for a few minutes (depending upon product type) are great.

Checking in with a good/trusted stylist is always a good idea as well.

    Good luck!

This a family recipe... lucky for you it's not a secret recipe. =o)

This conditioner makes your hair soft, shiny and it smells delicious!

    These are the ingredients:

    * 1 almost spoiled Avocado (peeled and mashed)

    * 1 almost spoiled banana (peeled and mashed)

    * 1/2 can of Coconut Milk

    * 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil

    Instructions:

Combine mashed avocado and banana with the 1/2 can of coconut milk. Mash together until its smooth and about as thick as your store bought conditioner. You can add small amounts at a time of the rest of the coconut milk until you get the texture you like (I prefer a creamier consistency so I use just a teenie bit more then half a can). Massage through wet shampooed hair. You may like to divide your hair so that you distribute the homemade conditioner evenly. Comb the conditioner through your hair then place a shower cap over your head if you do not have a shower cap you can wrap your head in saran wrap. Let the conditioner sit for 10 minutes; If you have a hair dryer you can sit under it for even deeper conditioning. I don't have a hair dryer, but what I myself do is wet and ring out a medium sized towel I put the it in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes (if you do it this way BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF there will be steam coming from the towel) wrap the hot steamy towel around your head for 5 minutes and repeat for the other 5 minutes. Last rinse homemade conditioner out and style however you like.

Enjoy and feel free to email me if you have any questions.

=o)What can i do for a at home hair treatment?
leave conditioner in for a half hour or so, and that'll work.

putting a mayo mask on it for a half hour will work as well, and so will putting olive oil in your hair %26amp; leaving that in for a bit. i must warn you the olive oil is for REALLY dry hair, so if you do use it don't use much. also, rinse you hair with cold water after you wash/condition it, bc the cold will help to keep the frizzies down and add extra shine
try a system of shampoo and conditioner of the same brand. nexus is what I recommend. my mom is a hair stylist for the runway and she uses nexus products to get that soft look. they're available at walgreens and most drug stores. she also says to eat almonds for protein and once a month apply olive oil to your hair for an hour and then shower. it gives ';life'; to your hair. and dont forget to trim dead ends. good luck.
Go to the grocery store and buy a bottle of PLAIN olive oil. Take it and put it next to where you wash your hair with a comb and a large bath towel. Wash your hair, but don't add any conditoner. Put the towel around your neck and pour/comb olive oil into your hair until it starts to drip. Wrap the towel around your head and sit somewhere warm/hot for two hours. When you take the towel off your hair should feel nearly dry. Wash again and condition as normal ... your hair will be soft, supple and shiny ... this 'hair conditioner' is the OLDEST 'beauty secret' in the world ... my hairdresser told me to do this at least once every three months ... my hair is permed but still looks REALLY GOOD and feels very soft, even after over two years of perms every 6 weeks! No, I don't have 'frizz' either ... that is how 'good' this hair treatement is!
well if your like me, you will know how annoying it is to condition your hair and then after still find knots!

what i have found that works is if you simply leave the conditioner in for a little while longer. Just do the normal process and when you put the conditoner in just turn off the shower for about five minutes then after you wash your hair out i could garrantee that your hair will feel really silky.

    Good luck :)

Whats a really good hair treatment for dry hair?
First of all-don't wash it every day. That will start the repair of your roots. Then, I recommend going to the drugstore or makeup store and buying an intensive moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I would recommend Nexus, Garnier, Paul Mitchell or Revlon. Also, mash up an avocado and let it sit in your hair (spread it all over) for 5-10 mins. This naturally, and quickly restores a healthy moisture, and color. Also, take one shower with only natural things-use the avocado, massage olive/coconut oil and then wash out, and then use a vinegar rinse for shine and cleanse! Good Luck!

Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. You can use the one readily available or the fresh one. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info on dry hair.
I've found olive oil works well. Pour it on your roots and massage it through all of your hair. Leave it sit and soak up the moisture, then wash it out, and condition as usual. I hope this helps!

Home Remedy for damaged hair growth care

Mix 1/2 cup honey and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse.

1/2 cup of ripe avocado, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 banana (I prefer it not to be too ripe), 1 egg yolk. Massage it in to your hair and especially your scalp. Cover it with a shower cap. You can also use a gallon size baggie in a pinch. Wait 45 minutes to an hour then rinse it off thoroughly and shampoo as usual. This beauty recipe is a keeper, I love the way it makes my hair look and feel.

Beat 1 egg white until foamy. Add to 6 tablespoons plain natural yogurt. Apply to hair in small sections at a time. Leave in for 15 minutes. Rinse.

2 cups distilled water, 1/3 cup chopped fresh rosemary leaves - In small saucepan combine ingredients and bring to boil. Continue to boil 5 minutes. Let cool, then pour into spray bottle. Keep refrigerated and mist on hair to add shine, tone scalp, or invigorate skin.

In a blender or food processor, combine 2 1/2 tablespoons dried milk, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil, and 1 egg. Apply evenly to hair and let set for at least an hour. Shampoo and style as usual.

Mix two whole eggs with four tablespoons of olive oil. Smooth through hair. Wrap head with plastic wrap, and leave in hair for 10 minutes. Rinse well.

Boil 7 heaping tablespoons dried thyme in 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Pour 1/2 mixture over clean, damp hair. Massage into scalp, do not rinse. Use the rest of the solution another day.

If you swim in a chlorinated pool for exercise on a regular basis, the same damage you've noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair, as well. Try this treatment at home to keep chlorine damage to a minimum.

Whats that one hair treatment called to make your hair straight?

also wat is the cost/were can i get it done?Whats that one hair treatment called to make your hair straight?
It's called a perm, you can get it at the salonWhats that one hair treatment called to make your hair straight?
first straight from the experts at redkin what your looking for is a relaxer it straightens your hair, second you can get it at walmart or any place really, it's cost is up to the product itself alittle advise do not choose one with lye in it, otherwise your headed for disaster, lye is extremely bad for your hair, alot of companies have stopped using lye in there relaxers because of it, my best choice is dark n lovely they dont use any lye in there relaxers, as far as someone who answered you perm, perms do not straighten your hair they add body and waves or curls, another good way to go is a flat iron if you want to take the time every day without chemicals to straighten your hair, these can be picked up for 10 to 20 dollars depending on the brand and there are so many out there, and remember if you run into trouble and dont know exactly which one is right for you choose a relaxer that is gentle at first and always set your flat iron to start at the lowest setting if that's the way you go, and good luck!
you can use a regular perm, just skip the perm rods. rather than letting it process with rods to make it curly, apply the solution %26amp; comb through continuously for about 20 min..
there is the brazillian hair straightener, the chi, the japenese straightening system, anywhere up to $500.
the cheapest tratments available are ';straight'; and ';relax';, though relax treatments could be a bit painful in your scalp if the procedure is done improperly or if you have dundruff.

the best treatment is called ';rebond'; though this could get a bit expensive. rebond permits you to color your hair after the treatment, unlike straight and relax there should be at least a 6 month gap from the treatment before you color your hair.

second best is the ';semi-rebond';, asian salons offers excellent hair treatments :)
a perm makes your hair curly...

although, a similar process (same chemicals) to make your hair straight is called relaxing your hair.

depending on how much hair it can be up to $80 or more and any salon can do it

The best thing I've used is more of a ';relaxer';...you still have to straighten it, but it takes A LOT of the curl out (I have really curly, ringlet hair)...it's called Rusk Anti-Curl...I've ordered it online before! Good luck!
Its called a relaxer, chi, or japanese straightening treatment. They are all different. You can do a relaxer at home. There is one called Phytorelax and you can get it from sephora.com. Just make sure you choose the correct index for your hair type, and get a friend to help so you get all the hair.

Clarifying hair treatment with baking soda?

I know that mixing some baking soda with your shampoo can clarify your hair, I just can't remeber how much. So I was wondering if anyone has every done it and how much they put in their shampoo?Clarifying hair treatment with baking soda?
I do it alot! You can use only baking soda if you want, too. Dump like a tablespoon of baking soda in your palm. Then, add water to make it pastey. Then, rub it in to your hair WHILE IT'S DRY. Then, rub it in and lather well. Rinse with cool/lukewarm water.

It's ALOT more effective when you put it in your hair while it's still dry ;)
